Overview
The Renown Infectious Disease Clinic, located at Renown Regional Medical Center, provides specialized consultation and management for adults with infectious diseases ranging from common bacterial and viral infections to complex conditions requiring long-term antibiotic therapy.
Our team partners closely with referring providers to ensure continuity of care, timely communication and comprehensive treatment planning for patients throughout northern Nevada.
We offer evaluation, diagnosis and treatment for:
- Bacterial and viral infections, including C. difficile and resistant organisms
- HIV management and prevention (PrEP and antiretroviral therapy)
- Hepatitis (B and C)
- Long COVID assessment and ongoing management
- Post-surgical or device-related infections
- Travel-related and emerging infectious diseases
- Infections requiring outpatient IV antibiotic therapy or infusion services
The clinic also provides transition-of-care support for patients discharged from Renown hospitals with ongoing infectious disease needs.
Referral Process
The Renown Infectious Disease Clinic provides consultation-based care by referral from primary care providers or specialists such as pulmonology, gastroenterology, or surgery.
- Referrals are processed within 1–2 business days.
- Patients are promptly contacted to schedule appointments.
- The clinic coordinates with Renown Lab Services, inpatient teams and local pharmacies to ensure seamless treatment and follow-up.
Referrals can be submitted through EPIC, fax or by calling the clinic directly.
