When Should I Go to the Emergency Room?

Urgent Care is a great option for minor illnesses or injuries that are too urgent to wait for your primary care provider. However, Renown Emergency Rooms are designed to treat patients who need immediate attention for emergencies, such as:

  • Broken bones, severe pain, or injuries needing stitches
  • Burns, severe bleeding, or deep wounds
  • Head or eye injuries
  • Difficulty breathing, asthma attacks, choking, or poisoning
  • Severe allergic reactions, including venomous stings or bites
  • Heart attack, stroke, or severe chest pain
  • Seizures or loss of consciousness (fainting, confusion, dizziness)
  • Severe headache or sudden neurological symptoms
  • Skin infections with fever or rapid spread

Renown Emergency Rooms are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. For life-threatening emergencies, always call 9-1-1 immediately.

We know there's nothing jolly about getting sick or injured during the holidays, but we hope you can find comfort knowing that Renown Health is here with the care you need, when you need it most.
